If you know a Beachbody coach, I am sure you have seen or heard somewhere that Thursday's are our Paydays! And everyone is always celebrating rank advancements, financial successes...exciting things. Its so cool to see and even more fun to reap these benefits. Today was a first for me in my business.
For the first time in 28 months... I didn't receive a weekly paycheck from BeachBody. This means that all my hard work and all the effort of my coaches over the past 7 days haven't produced the results any of us sought.
So, what's a girl to do?
I wasn't sure this was something I should even share because it seems a little counterintuitive to most business models when the CEO tells everyone when things aren't perfect. But something I am proud of is my honesty and vulnerability as I take this journey alongside you.
Lots of things come into play as why this happened this week. But that's not the point of why I am writing. What I want you to know is that next week will be better and we all go through times like this in our personal as well as professional lives. I don't like admitting my check was a big, fat zero this week. It's never happened before and I've alternated back and forth between frustration, agitation, disappointment, and determination. This week does not define me just as every other successful week doesn't tell the complete story of who I am. These are just snapshots of a larger story.
What I want to take away from this and hopefully share with you is that I will use this time to grow as a businesswoman and a person. I will take inventory and see what I can do to help make those around me more successful because sometimes we all need to reflect and make adjustments. I won't put undue or unnecessary pressure on myself because that wont fix anything...all i can do is take care of today and just keep my eyes forward. I believe in myself and in those I have surrounded myself with. I believe in the product and the process.
The last thing i want to say is that my business journey is a lot like my health journey. There will be ups and downs, there will be great days and not so great days. There will be times that we try really hard and think we will get some great results, and nothing happens.
And all i can do is
KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
KEEP DOING MY BEST.
And KEEP TRYING.
Anyway, Just a reminder that you are amazing and you can do anything you put your mind to...as long as you dont quit <3
It’s time to get OBSESSED!!
What’s cool about this program is there are actually 80 separate workouts. You actually get to see the program in real-time, and watch the bodies of the cast change as the workouts progress — including Autumn’s. It’s set to be released on January 15th, 2018 as a series of LIVE workouts on Beachbody on Demand.
The 80 Day Obsession WorkoutsWhat’s completely new and unique about this program is that it is filmed in REAL TIME. Meaning you get 80 workouts, day-by-day, and follow along with the cast as they transform their own bodies. Workouts are great for weight loss while toning your core and shaping your booty. The workouts are intense… but they’re SUPPOSED to be. They’re for anyone committed to seeing REAL CHANGE in 80 days. Unlike the 21 Day Fix, the workouts are longer. They range from about 45 minutes to an hour in length…. all designed to get you in the BEST SHAPE OF YOUR LIFE. Who doesn’t want that? You’ll get a total body workout, but some days focus entirely on your butt, your legs, upper body. Cardio is also part of the mix- to maximize fat burn.
Workouts for the week will be released on Saturday nights, great for those early-morning exercisers ready to hit it hard Sunday morning. Once the workouts are released, they will stay up on Beachbody on Demand permanently. 80 Day Obsession follows a 13-week format, with six workouts each week and a rest day. So, the entire series of 80 workouts is spread out over 91 days.
What is Beachbody on Demand? Beachbody on Demand is an online streaming service for Beachbody workouts. Think of it like the Netflix of Fitness. You will need BOD for 80 Day Obsession, as the workout program will not be released on DVD. In addition to streaming workouts, BOD gives you access to the nutrition program for all the programs, the Fixate cooking show and other great resources and workout exclusives like:
Who is a Good Fit for 80 Day Obsession? This program is for those who already have at least an entry-level base of fitness. If you’ve not yet gone through the 21 Day Fix program, I’d recommend doing that first. If you are gearing up to 80 Day Obsession, I’d recommend doing at least one round of 21 Day Fix followed by 21 Day Fix Extreme. However, if you’re in a time crunch one round should be sufficient to get you familiar with Autumn’s style, the container system and clean eating, while building that minimum level of fitness required to do 80 Day Obsession. It’s great for you IF:
80 Day Obsession Menu Plan
With 80 Day Obsession, the Portion Fix System containers are used, but this program utilizes a timed macronutrient program. It tells you what to eat WHEN – taking the guesswork out. Like the 21 Day Fix, you’ll do a quick calorie calculation to find out which bracket you fall into. However, with 80 Day Obsession you’ll be eating the proper macronutrients to fuel your body what it needs at just the right time. You’ll get a pre-workout and post-workout meal. For example, for breakfast your bracket may say you need one green, one red and one blue. This truly will maximize getting the right nutrients into your system to optimize performance and muscle growth and recovery. BONUS – you also get a “refeed” day. That’s when the nutrition plan gets a bump up starchy carbs, fruits… all to add to those glycogen stores. You’ll do it on a leg day, and the first one happens at 6 weeks. Then, “refeed” days happen every few weeks after that.
80 Day Obsession SupplementsTo boost your workout performance, Autumn recommends using Beachbody Performance Energize 15-30 minutes before your workout. Because your muscles will be sore, it’s recommended that you use Beachbody Performance Recover after your workout as well as Beachbody Performance Recharge at night 30 minutes before you go to bed to speed muscle recovery. If you want to try them, they come in a Beachbody Performance Sampler pack.
About 80 Day Obsession From Autumn Calabrese:
How did the idea of 80 Day Obsession come about?
The Beachbody CEO, Carl Dialer has a whiteboard FULL of workout program ideas. One of them was an “Ass and Abs” program. He approached Autumn Calabrese about the idea of that and Country Heat about the same time. However, the technology wasn’t there to do a real-time workout yet on the platform, so Country Heat came first.
What is timed nutrition?
Timed nutrition has nothing to do with intermittent fasting, contrary to what some of you might think. It’s basically Autumn just answering some of the questions she’s received over the years on the best containers to eat at what times of the day. For example, what should you eat before your workout. The best things to eat AFTER. When should I be done with my yellows? All timed nutrition meals is that Autumn is suggesting the best macronutrients to eat when. You still get to decide what goes into your containers and when.
What about the pre-workout meal? It’s supposed to be eating an hour and a half to two hours before I work out. What if I’m an early-riser and need to work out right away?
The tough love answer is that you should still eat before you work out – it’s called OBSESSION for a reason. However, you can sub out Meal One for your pre-workout meal and do it 20 minutes before your workout instead of an hour and a half or two. If you still can’t adhere to that, you simply start your timed nutrition after you’re done with your workout.
What does the name OBSESSION mean?
80 Day Obsession is all about COMMITTING to YOURSELF. The word obsession has nothing to do with obsessing about the number on the scale, it has nothing to do with obsessing over how you look, or obsessing over calories. It’s about having a certain level of obsession over yourself and your self-care… and being OK with that. That’s what being obsessed is about. The focus of 80 Day Obsession is 3-fold.
1. Build the glutes. Yes, we all want a great looking back side but its just as important to have a strong butt. That’s right, glutes are a big muscle that do a lot of work. We spend a lot of our day sitting on our butts, we need to get those muscles firing and functioning properly.
2. Reduce total body fat, especially in the stubborn belly area
3. Emphasize the right kind of core work to get flat but defined abdominals. It’s no secret that I’ve wanted to build my butt and I’ve been working on it for awhile now. This program proves that with the right combination of exercises and timed nutrition – shaped, firm glutes that look good and function even better doesn’t have to be restricted to the genetically gifted. The booty is made of muscle and just like any other muscle in the body, it can be built and sculpted.
The focus of 80 Day Obsession is exciting, but what I’m even more excited about is the way I get to deliver it to you over the course of 13 weeks. This isn’t 7 workouts on repeat. Every workout is unique in some way so I keep your body (and your mind) guessing and you never get bored. It’s how I would train you if you were a personal client meeting me in the gym every day.
I’m confident you guys are going to love this macro-nutrition program because it takes all the guess work out. I literally tell you exactly how to eat AND when to eat and we use the familiar container system from 21 Day Fix to make sure you’re getting the right portion and combination of each food group when your body needs it most.
While abs and booty may be a primary vanity objective, this program is designed for your body to function optimally, to be lean, but shockingly strong. Yes, a great looking body is nice, but a great looking body that works well, moves well and feels great is truly a gift!
One last thing… I went with the word “obsession” because to achieve the kind of results this program delivers in just under three months takes a specific type of focus. You could say we’re becoming obsessed with the process, obsessed with the details that help move us forward, obsessed with self-care and obsessed with making physical, mental and even nutritional gains
Equipment Needed for 80 Day Obsession
For 80 Day Obsession, you’ll need weights, resistance loops and sliders. Most of you have free weights already. The resistance loops will be available on TeamBeachbody.com in December 14th so you can get them before the program launches.
It was JUST ANNOUNCED last week that ALL COACHES on our team will have the opportunity to participate in a special COACH-ONLY test group with Autumn Calabrese herself. The group will take place on Facebook in a closed group. If you plan on doing the 80 Day Obsession program in January, you can use this opportunity to enroll as a coach and have your initial enrollment fee WAIVED. So, once again, i woke up this morning to another "on this day" memory on facebook. But it was actually from 2 years ago. It was a good memory. A great little post I made about how i felt about my marriage...2 years ago, 19 years being celebrated.
Now, Here i sit...trying to get out how i feel about it. I have been thinking about it all day. I know i have had quite a few of these blogs the past 2 months..but that is because its here...in my face, a year later.
How do you celebrate something that represents two things that are opposite one another? December 7 marks the 21st year my husband and I have been married and on this day two years ago I thought we were invincible. I recalled all the previous anniversaries we celebrated and the cards and gifts and promises. Two years ago the future held promise and adventure and excitement. So how do you celebrate a day that now doesn't have the same meaning? Last year we were apart and in the beginning stages of figuring out what we were going to do, how to make it through each day... forget about the next 20 years.
So here we are.
I've 364 days other days to remind me that this day would show up once again. It won't go away or be ignored or let my emotions off the hook. I'm back at ground zero and this day just no longer has any significance to us. It actually is a reminder that promises weren't kept and hearts were broken and feelings were betrayed. I didn't sign up for this 21 years ago. I feel sad and a significant sense of loss and mourning.
BUT I'm still here.
We are still here.
Even if this is a different version of the journey we started together, we are still traveling together. And some days are still very hard and emotional. Some days I wonder if it's going to come to end. But then I look back over the last year and I realize there are some days that inspire hope and a new future. I wonder if redemption means a new start and the day doesn't matter nearly as much the journey. Yes, there are still reminders of the past and I can't ignore them, but I also see glimpses of the future and I want to embrace them.
Right now this day might as well be the 7th of October or March 21st or any other day because it does not signify what it originally meant to me. I know this might not make sense to some people and it's okay for others to have their own opinions. But this is our life and we are so thankful to those who have been truly supportive and loving towards us. This has not been an easy year and your relationships mean the world to us. We love you.
I guess there are no easy answers for tomorrow and that's okay. We will keep working, every day, to restore what has been lost and and create new experiences that we will treasure.
All that matters right now is that we are choosing to do it together. Our Anniversary might not mean what it did...but we celebrate because its a new day that we are here together. And that makes it significant.
" I, I'm a new day rising
I'm a brand new sky
To hang the stars upon tonight
I am a little divided
Do I stay or run away
And leave it all behind?
It's times like these you learn to live again
It's times like these you give and give again
It's times like these you learn to love again
It's times like these time and time again"
