Have you ever gone on vacation for a week, and you KNOW you gained weight, so when you get back home, you avoid the scale for awhile? And then you feel kinda bad about how you went crazy so...you might as well just really ENJOY yourself because you KNOW you are going to start on Monday? And then Monday comes and your pants are super tight and you dont need the scale to tell you that you gained 10lbs so you just dont do it and it becomes this downward spiral?!?
Well, I will never forget the first time Ilana (creator of the 2B mindset)) said, "stepping on the scale should be like brushing your teeth! We should be doing it daily!"
I was shocked. The scale is the enemy. I know you have seen it. I know most coaches post about it. I have been sharing the past 2+ years that our identity isnt in the scale. That it,s just a number. That it,s a liar. That NSV (non scale victories) are MOST important. That our weight fluctuates daily and it can be overwhelming and frustrating. That the scale is EVIL. 😳
And now..im just supposed to change my MINDSET and be ok with adding this to my daily habits? WHAT???
Well, 5 months later...im here to tell you i survived. AND I am even happy. And most importantly, its working. Using the scale is working. Because like all of the other "tools" i have in my arsenal...this is just another one.
The scale is not only helping me, but I see it for all that it is. A powerful tool!
Weighing myself each morning is a great way to see what is working for me and what isn't. BEFORE, its too late. Ilana has showed us how to use the scale to our advantage! How to use the scale in a healthy way, rather than defining myself by the number it showed. And honestly, it was the most freeing feeling of my life. When you use it the right way, your scale can become your biggest ally in managing your weight. Tracking body weight by itself has value. In study after study, people who monitor progress by tracking their weight almost always do better than those who don’t. And i have seen this for ME ~ first hand.
Every single morning now, I LOOK FORWARD to hopping on that scale and seeing what it says.
Because, guess what? It's still just a number! It doesn't define me. It doesnt tell me how strong i am getting. It doesnt tell me who i am as a person. It doesnt show my value or character. It doesnt break me down to just a number.
BUT....BUT...BUT... you know what it does tell me? It tells me that all that water i drank yesterday really did help me lose weight. It tells me when I've eaten too much salt at dinner. It tells me that i need a bit more fiber to help my body get rid of "some stuff" HA! It's kind of like that super honest friend that you really need in your life EVEN when its tough to hear. The one that is trying to help you... ya know what I mean?
So, please hear me..im not telling you to obsess over what it says. I am saying step on it and step off. Track what it says and take note. If the scale is up, look back at yesterday and re-evaluate. See what you might need to change. Its really about helping you see what is working FOR you.
I know I keep saying it, but this program has changed my life in so many ways. And to me, THIS ONE thing has been my game-changer. A HEALTHY relationship with the scale, with weight loss, and with my body.

Today is our first day of our "clean week" and I am loving it!!! I love it so much, I am going to be doing another one the day after Halloween...because, for real, who is gonna need to get back on track after the 31st???

I was scrolling Facebook and saw a friend's before and after pictures from doing 6 months of workouts and Shakeology and I was curious as to what she was doing to get those results so I read her story & thought what the heck...and i messaged her.
I explained I had no money, I had arthritis in my hips, I was in my 40's and i had tried everything and nothing worked for me, and only my husband was working so I didn't have any extra money to start a fitness routine.
She shared that actually while doing this program, she started telling people about the journey and became a coach where she shared her journey with using the products and the company gave her a referral fee for doing so.
I was intrigued, began asking questions, still didn't have any money but I knew that if I didn't make changes to my life then and there, we would continue to struggle financially and I would still struggle physically.
I wanted to show my kids that being healthy and fit is a lifestyle choice and what better way than doing it from home. I began feeling so great that I couldn't help telling others about these amazing products. I can't believe I started this countdown 63 days ago.
As you can see, there are black marked out squares....Alot more than i wanted. But, thats ok. the point is...i didn't quit. I didn't give up. I kept going. Even though at times, i felt like i was failing. Forget about failure.
If we really TRY, that is a huge success. Regardless of what you’re trying to do – finish college, get in shape, start a business, making a difference, etc. – you have already achieved something by simply putting in the effort.
I started this lifestyle change 1 1/2 years ago. I wanted to be at my goal already. I thought I would be. I have seen people throughout this process that reached there goal way faster than me..and slower than me. But, sometimes things don't go the way we plan or how we plan or in the amount of time we plan.
And thats ok...
You just have to hold your head up and be proud of the progress you have made. For a perfectionist (me 😎) ...sometimes it seems better to quit then to fail. But...that's not true. Instead of taking a bunch of steps backwards, we just need to make the necessary adjustments and keep going!
No step towards your goal is a small one.
I will be heading out in a few hours to meet with a bunch of other beachbody coaches. "Old Tina" would have cancelled the trip because I was too embarrassed to go not being at the goal i set for myself.
I am so stoked to be have earned this trip. To be going. #operationpuntacana is done. I am damn proud of the work I put in. I wasn't perfect, but I never am, so nothing new there! ha ha ha 🤣 I will be going confidently and happily. I will enjoy every damn day because I earned it. I worked hard for it...and I won't let a number on a scale or "missing abs" take that away from me.
I did see lots of changes during the last 63 days...most of them on my mind and heart. I did lose inches, pounds and gained some arm muscles from SO MANY PUSHUPS (still hate Autumn Calabrese😜 )
Why am i sharing this? Because:
