![]() The last two months have been a whirl wind for me. Seriously, I don’t even know where the summer went. One day it was June 1st and all of sudden its September. And yes, i am sad to see summer winding down because this summer I was able to be at home with the kids and we made so many awesome memories. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE LOVE having the kids home all summer, but i notice that my routines and good habits kind of go out the window. Its like summer is my "weekend" and the rest of the year is my "week". I don't know if that makes sense to anyone, but that is how it feels to me. Its so easy to let things go during summer. We have so many BBQ's, quick trips planned, sleeping in, staying up super late, baking with Sophie...Its like glorious chaos! So, as a planner and logistical queen...i really love my routines that i have created and am excited to get everyone back to school and me back to "work". I try to keep up my good habits and workouts. I have worked too hard to let it all go and go back to where i started...But, i do enjoy it and sometimes get a bit carried away. So even though i got most of my workouts in..my nutrition was lacking and when i stepped on the scale this morning..it was up. Im not surprised. I didn't freak out. I just am ready to get back to it and keep moving forward. I know the old me would have looked at the scale, saw it was up and given up right there. The power those numbers used to have over me, my attitude, my day...it was so bad. Not anymore. I have learned over these last 2 years this is a journey and i have to keep going forward. There is no end-date. There is no big event i am trying to lose weight for. I am trying to get healthy for me. I am trying to be a role model for my kids. I am trying to be a better person and i feel like the best version of my self when i am healthy. I am excited to get back to it. If i gave up anytime the scale didn't move or actually went up...i definitely wouldn't be where i am today. I still have not reached my goal...but i am closer today than i was yesterday ;-) We have 18 weeks before New Years...ALOT can happen in 18 weeks. I am excited about what i am going to be accomplishing before 2018...are you? Enjoy your holiday weekend. (because balance of course ;-) ) And then lets get to it!
