Happy Mothers Day.
Cool... A whole day dedicated just for the pampering and preservation of the institution of American motherhood. A wonderful 24-hour cycle to celebrate the sacrifice of moms from all different walks of life. A blessed time to honor and reflect on all that mothers do in their many roles. Here's to you moms out there..Happy Mother's Day!
Take some time for yourself and look back at all the accomplishments you've experienced during the past year. Life as a mom moves rapidly and most days sneak up on us and are over before we realize how much we impacted all those around us... Spouses, kids, parents, siblings... We wear so many different hats during the course of the day that we need our own rack attached to our shoulders! Its easy to focus on the things we don't get done or let fall through the cracks (that don't seemingly seem to bother dads on Father's Day...hmmm) but no one is perfect and being a mom means moving on from chaos to chaos and beauty to beauty. Be proud of yourself and a great thing to do from now on... Keep this attitude throughout the year and not just today.
If you have a mom in your life (biological or otherwise), be sure to thank here for the things she's done for you. Not for perfection because no mom is perfect. But throw some praise her way because she cares for you and did her best. She was there when you needed her and if she wasn't maybe that inspired you to be a better mom. Don't let today slip away without thanking her for helping you become the person you are today.
So, from one mom to all the others out there sipping coffee or eating krispy Kreme for breakfast or having brunch or smelling flowers... Happy Mother's Day. Thank you for all you do and all you will do. The packed school lunches, the overtime at the office, the listening ear, and the incredible advice you offer.
Enjoy today because you've earned it!
Im a 43 year old Mom taking charge of her health and who's passionate about helping you live your healthiest, happiest life.
